A soldier stands and looks around, Over the littered battleground. She finally wonders at the cost, Of the battles and lives both won and lost. Stripped of her armor, she views her soul, The scars she's taken since she was whole, Each life a line, a tear, a rent, In her spiritual firmament. And then she sees peace in other men, A different view, a different ken, Understands at last, their point is right, Honoring life, while refusing to fight. Yet, this soldier has come a long, long way, Fighting each and every day, A struggle to obtain a certain goal In which the soldier would feel whole. And among the dead and scars she stands, The survivor over conquored lands, And though she finds peace might just do, She still prefers her point of view.
A million miles
'tween hand and me.
Is what I touch
what I see?
Broken, shattered,
I stumble upon reality...
But am I the one
I think is me?
All is airy,
be it rough, be it smooth--
Two-dimensional sight.
So I touch,
but do not feel...
Is it reality
that they call real?
Painful, torrid,
Gripped with fright,
Hidden objects
from my sight
I see best
where is no light...
The vision of a beast of night?
I see the silence,
color a sound
Open my ears
to look around
My own steps trodding
the rock-hard ground
Find in silence
what none has found.
Without a perfect take-off, there can't be a perfect landing...
Finding what you want will help you make this the best that it can be...so, now look at yourself and take a longer look around you...How would you like it?
Now, begin to make the pieces fit...
This day marks the begining of the rest of your life.
There was a bride to wed the king The full bride-price she was to bring O'er the hill and o'er the stream To the castle grand. 'Twas there she rode that winter's day With but one guard to lead the way The valiant guard was by bear slain The bride alone did stand. There stepped out from behind an oak Into the dark like the fairy-folk Up to the bear, which then he strok'd The bear he seemed to tame. The frightened bride thanked then the knight Who saved her from her dreadful plight Then asked if she could stay the night But ne'er gave her name. Hey, did you know, Where the forest meets the streambed's flow Where summer rules, it ne'er snows And winter never stands There rests a man who ruled the trees, Who led the beasts, the birds, the bees, A placid man who yearned for peace And ruled the summer lands. The man said, "Yes," then led the bride The bear he tamed close at his side Through forest paths which always hide And mortals never know. When twilight came he increased the pace Drew closed the hood to hide his face And brought the bride to a wond'rous place F ree of fallen snow. There she slept through one full day The forest man did fret and pray That the bride would wish to stay And made for her a gift. And when awoke the bride that night The forest man was out of sight Then he gave her a dreadful fright Handing her a shift. (Chorus) She asked the man to build a fire He bowed to her and made a pyre Gave her all she could desire 'Twas her he wished to wed. Unto her he gave the rose, Sung her songs and read her prose From dusk to dawn his love still grows But still he hid his head. Then bade the bride remove his hood He bowed his head but understood That her request would mean no good And pled he not be found. "I must see your face," insisted she He dropped his hood for her to see The beast that he must surely be To which she would be bound. (Chorus) Then reached she out to touch his face Tears in her eyes, and love's embrace That which his guise could never chase Within her deepest heart. The swore the bride to marry he Before the beast-man tried to flee Told him her name, the bride to be! And tore the curse apart. 'Twas then and there she saw his face In love her blood & heart did race For now 'twas clear his princely-place And laughter she let go. For here she love the forest king The one to which she was to bring She herself and their wedding rings Through the winter snow (Chorus)
Lay your blanket of love on me, Shelter me in all your hearts. My love for you is deep, And swift, Churning like a river, never ending. Devotion, Waves on the shore of the eternal ocean. I taste of you all, Lapping like a kitten at a first bowl of milk. Would, I could dive in, Two or three of you touching me at once. Desire growing, Frighteningly strong-- I want you, to please you, to tease you... To watch your eyes and feel your pleasure flood me. I want you, to please me, to tease me... To roll my eyes and feel your pleasure flood me. My heart is racing, My skin tingling-- Thinking about all of you.... Each alone, all, or in combinations... Pull the blanket over me.
A breach in the walls, Deliberate or Fate? A knot in the pathway Destined to Mate? A dance at the fires Alone did we lay The dance to a close Forsaken that day Chinks in the armor At long last we held Opened the doorways Our spirits to meld.
I tremble to think of you,
Am I afraid of you or only angry?
Did you ever think I would forgive you?
Impertinent, son of a seafarer.
I tremble at your presence,
Imagined or real.
You will never touch me again.
I back away at the thought of you,
Rapist. Demon-spawn.
Strip away the centuries, look behind the Young Kingdoms
When the Edge of Chaos was beyond the Boiling Sea.
My eyes born blind were always able to see the truth.
The wrist you nearly tore off as you leaned full upon it so I would not
gouge another ounce of your flesh,
Numbing cold fingers...
Beast. I spit on your image.
Black irised eyes in a pale white face, only marred by the bruises of
your demon-possessed delivery.
And you dared to tell me you would be different.
And I dared marry you.
Nothing could protect me from you...the curse so strong,
But you could not bear children of demon-rape upon my corpse.
I have forgotten your name, else I would send you fears worthy of the
nightmares you gave to me.
I tremble to think of you...
In anticipation of an old lover's touch,
My fingers embrace you with joy,
Wrapped tightly around your throat,
They squeeze...
My hands wield the knife to slash your hands off,
To dig into your eyes until you are blind,
To mar your skin so you appear to all as the beast you are to me.
Could you stab me one more time? Left me bleeding as you walked away With the empty promise of "perhaps another day..." Make me your victim of another crime! Could you stab me just once more? What do you have to lose if you take a chance? There's no risk to you in this circumstance, Look upon it as another sad chore. Couldn't you have stabbed me just one time? I gave you the chance to try again But you left me a second time to my pain. The freedom is yours but the heartache's mine.
